KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) Ford Motor Co.'s Kansas City Assembly Plant in Claycomo has dodged another bullet as its parent company on Friday announced the latest round of job cuts and plant closures.

In an attempt to become more environmentally friendly the City of Manteca purchased a Ford SUV Hybrid for use by the Public Works Department. It enforces that we are trying to do the right thing in terms of the environment, said Public Works Deputy Director Jim Stone.
